Open Call
Fair Date: 17/04/2026-19/04/2026
COMMON AIR Book Fair brings together independent publishing projects from around the world in Barcelona — a city with a long history of creativity, cultural exchange, and making. The fair exists to connect international voices with a local context rich in talent, curiosity, and experimentation.

We see publishing as a shared cultural practice, not simply a finished product. Printed matter is the residue of collective thinking — a record of how culture is practiced, questioned, and sustained over time. COMMON AIR Book Fair s not a manifesto for the future of print, but an invitation to stay with the present long enough to notice what is already being made, and why it matters.

We are drawn to publishing projects that resist immediacy, rooted in a cause, an idea, or a specific cultural inquiry, developed with depth and intention. We support independent and self-organized initiatives — small print runs, handmade processes, etc, all the slow production methods that value thought over speed. To print is to choose slowness, reflection, and commitment.

COMMON AIR Book Fair gathers those who make and imagine. It is a space to share work, exchange ideas, and experience print beyond the page — through conversation, sound, and collective presence.

COMMON AIR Book Fair is an initiative by COMMON AIR in collaboration with the residency programs OFF-MENU and NAKED SPACE.

Applications open: 13/01/2026-16/02/2026

ABOUT OFF-MENU
website

Off-Menu is an independent publishing house and creative studio exploring the world of food and drink through intentional storytelling. Our annual print magazine documents the people, places, and ideas shaping contemporary food culture, with a focus on what happens behind the scenes. Through long-form narratives, photography, and collaborations, we highlight individuals and initiatives that are often overlooked, yet fundamental to the industry.

So far, we have published two print issues, with the magazine stocked internationally in over 40 retailers across 15+ countries — including MagCulture and the Tate Modern in London, as well as Public Records in New York, among others.

Our mission is to bring intentionality back to food media, centering the communities and lived experiences often missing from the conversation. By choosing print, we embrace a slower, more deliberate craft that preserves stories and encourages readers to engage with food in a more thoughtful way. Alongside editorial projects, Off-Menu also produces in-person events that create space for exchange through communal experiences, workshops, and talks, building a global community of readers, makers, and creatives.

ABOUT NAKED SPACE
website

NAKED SPACE was born in 2023 as a spatial tribute to contemporary identity in nomadic and fluid forms. Since then, we have been exploring and situating a profound investigation of common creativity through diverse forms of action-related spatial ephemerals, in a performative manner. Audience and artists contribute together to a shared body of work integrated with the selected space, creating a collective and open-ended scenario.

Through the transformative potential of space as a medium for cultivating connection and understanding, NAKED SPACE's activities transcend the limits of existing perspectives on what space can contribute to cultural assembly. This occurs in decentralized formats of local knowledge production and community building.

A set of spatial acts can generate a rupture and expand our imagination of contemporary and future cities.
